| TomTom GPS : GO x20 and GO x30 get v8.301 update- snappy again |
Posté le 16 février 2009 à 15:07:00 par gpspassion. EN - "All in One" Solutions Source : Gpspassion
Updated February 16th, 2009 TomTom GPS systems are well known for the snappy interface and smooth screen display that have graced the TomTom GO units since the GO v1/classic was first shown at the CeBIT 2004 show, but for some odd reason v8.30 introduced some annoying "lagging" on the flagship x20 and x30 models...
...Thanks to the recently released v8.301 and in spite of its small increment, the "snappiness" is back. Install it via TomTom HOME and use the v8.301 update for GO x20 and x30 - Snappy again ! topic of the www.GOtomtom section of the forums to discuss.
Updated April 7th, 2008 - A good surprise this week-end with the early availability of the TomTom GO930 in Europe, barely a month after it was announced at the CeBIT show. While recent competition in the GPS market has lead to cut-throat pricing that may jeopardize future investments, it has also reduced the time to market, so we no longer have to wait months between announcements and availability. Granted, the TomTom GO 930T uses the same hardware platform as the GO 920T, but there are some significant software enhancements...
... ALG (Advanced Lane Guidance) offers more accurate guidance and adds a nice gaphics while IQR (Intelligent Routing) is already showing some promising improvements in the US where TomTom's routes and ETA have been regularly criticized over the past 5 years. Last but not least, the speed of a road can now be updated directly in Mapshare. More details in this topic of the www.GOtomtom section of the forums.
Posted March 3rd, 2008 - After the TomTom GO in 2004, the GO x00s (300/500/700) in 2005, the GO x10s (510/710/910) in 2006, and the GO x20s (520/720/920), here comes the fifth generation of TomTom GO systems, the x30s with the 530 (Europe only), 730 and 930 models, see the TomTom website for the press releases. The form factor is identical to the current x20 generation with an updated finish, so the differences lie in the software, which may or may not be called TomTom v8... ...: - IQ Routing : using actual travel times instead of speed by road class to improve trip relevance and ETA. This data has apparently been gathered over the years by TomTom users logging into TomTom HOME. - Advanced Lane Guidance : a static 3D preview of the intersections on motorways. This is a handy feature previously seen as "Reality View" on the Navigon 7100, 5100 and 2100 units. Availability is scheduled for the end of April, in the meantime you can use this topic of the www.GOtomtom section of the forums to discuss.
