| GPS PDA Software - TomTom Launch Navigator 7 for Windows Mobile ! |
Posté le 29 mai 2009 à 16:29:00 par gpspassion. EN - Software Source : Gpspassion
Updated May 29th, 2009 Very much out of the blue, TomTom have just announced the availability of TomTom Navigator 7 for Windows Mobile smartphones. This new version comes almost 3 years after TTN6...and a year after TTN7 was first seen on the HTC Diamond Smartphone as a bundle only. TomTom seemed to have given up on standalone software to focus on their ONE, XL and GO AIOs...is this a good sign for an iPhone version ?
While compatible devices are limited on paper, it's likely the microSD version will work on a broader range of WM6 devices, possibly WM5, this will have to be checked out. No maps of North America for now, but TTN7 can normally load the same maps as the TomTom AIOs so that might come later. You can use the TomTom launch Navigator 7 for WM topic of the "GPS and Mobile News" forums.
Updated June 28th, 2006 - While iGO 2006 just came out with a splash in Europe, and iGuidance released a much anticipated v3 in the US, there are other players popping up such as Mapfactor with Pocket Navigator 6. Not much is known about this software out of the Czech Republic, but forum member jollyroger has tried and...
... shares his thoughts in the forums, great coverage, but it seems some fine-tuning is needed.
Posted 07/21/2005 - After the launch of many new GPS navigation solutions for PDAs in 2002 following the deployment of the PocketPC platform, there have been relatively few new arrivals since. iDrive Navigator (website) is nearing release and while its feature is still relatively simple (no 3D mode, Traffic or POI imports for instance), its user interface seems to be very appealing and designed with usability in mind. No surprise since it was developped by Sygic who have brought us "smart" looking software over the years.
iDrive Navigator relies on Navteq maps with coverage for Europe at this point. Also of interest to "All-in-One" WinCE 4.2 navigation solutions (details), they have a Windows CE.Net version too.
