Updated June 4th, 2009 We hadn't heard much from Destinator lately although the software can still be found on some entry-level systems. A far cry from its claim to fame in late 2001 as the first "turn by turn" navigation system for mobile devices, i.e. PocketPCs. They also had some early wins in the AIO market with Packard Bell or Acer but for some reason, they faded, while Garmin and TomTom took off.
Just a year after they bought Destinator, Intrinsyc are relaunching it as Destinator 9 with a revamped interface. It is supposed to be available now, but it's not clear on what format...It's likely going to an uphill battle for them but let's wish them good luck. You can use the Destinator 9 Announced ! started by forum regular igalan.
Posted June 11th, 2005 - The new version of Destinator has arrived and it's called Destinator PN, as in "Personal Navigator" I suppose. It picks up where Destinator 3 and Destinator 3 Pro left off with a main navigation screen that has been completely revamped and made very configurable...

The US should follow but it is already available in Europe, and you can read andens01's first impressions after using Destinator PN for "50 Swedish Miles"! I have also been testing it in France where it does not yet decode the private v-trafic TMC broadcast unlike Navigon MN|5. It is very competitvely priced though at €142 for full European Coverage and upgrades from any navigation system available for €80.
