| Visiontac VGPS-900 : Bluetooth Datalogger, Voice-Tag, MicroSD, BT747 |
Posté le 15 mai 2009 à 17:23:00 par gpspassion. EN - Hardware Source : Gpspassion
Updated May 15th, 2009 It's been more than six months since the Visiontac VGPS-900 Bluetooth datalogger became available at Semsons and it remains unrivalled in terms of features : direct logging to a microSD card and of course its unique "voice memo" complemented by mderweed's BT747 program.
I find myself recording hundreds of POIs (points of interest) for www.POIenFrance.com (we also have www.POInUSA.com) on my outings and using the V900 is the only practical way to do it. Prior to that I would lose most of my data as reading badly typed descriptions on my AIOs was too much of a chore. Now I can just feed the .csv files into BT747 and it will build a Google Map with clickable voice tags I can listen to. You can use the Visiontac VGPS-900 - Logger with voice of the "GPS Dataloggers and Geocoding" forums to discuss.
Posted October 24th, 2008 - GPS dataloggers have become increasingly popular over the past year as they can document our whereabouts and let us geocode the pictures we take. Most models on the market share similar features, high sensitivity chipsets, built-in memory, Bluetooth connectivity, but new models are raising the bar, such as the Visiontac VGPS-900 available at Semsons...

The VGPS-900 has two new interesting features, a microSD slot to use cards up to 2Gb and a "voice-tag" function that lets you add a comment to a waypoint, very handy to avoid scratching your head when you review waypoints recorded during a trip. It alo has an intriguing "spy mode" to log data for a full month. A test unit should soon be headed for the "GpsPasSion Labs" and forum member iks is waiting for the order he placed to come in, so stay tuned in this topic of the "GPS Dataloggers and Geocoding" forums for more.
Posted November 21st, 2007 - The diminutive Royaltek RGM-3800 SiRFstarIII "Locr ready" datalogger with a massive 64Mb memory just got better with a firmware upgrade that allows it to log data once per second versus a maximum of every 5 seconds previously. More details in this thread of the forums and it can currently by purchased for a low... ... $60 at Semsons.
Updated July 30th, 2007 - The popular "BlueGPS" (Royaltek 3000 Bluetooth Datalogger) released in 2003 was in need of a successor. While the RBT-1000 ("BabyBlue") and RBT-2x00 took over for the Bluetooth part, we will have had to wait until 2007 and the...
... RGM-3800 for the datalogger part...but without Bluetooth.
In spite of the lack of Bluetooth connectivity, the RGM-3800 remains an interesting device with the powerful SiRFstarIII GPS Chipset in its LP (Low Power) version, a record memory of 64Mb good for 650,000 points, the use of standard AAA batteries for "unlimited" autonomy and an attractive price of $75 at Semsons. Also of note is a direct link in the PC companion application to www.LOCr.com that we discussed in the "Picture Geocoding Guide". Stay tuned for a review on GpsPasSion, in the meantime you can use this thread in the "News" forums to discuss.
Posted March 10th, 2004 - Thanks to French visitor Jean-Paul who pointed out the arrival of a new Bluetooth GPS at Royaltek, theRBT-3100. While it loses the data-logger feature of the excellent RBT-3000 (aka BlueGPS), it benefits from the use of a standard (Nokia?) and removable li-ion battery... ...
It also appears poised to seize the crown of the smallest Bluetooth GPS with a volume of 63cc, even less than the Sanav BT-48 at 71cc.
You can discuss this new GPS in this thread.
