I have XT running on my Q9h without problem. Sometimes it gets slow but works. Q9h has a full GPS chip builtin, but start-up will take longer than other GPS device. I heard Q9c has a aGPS which may not be compatible with XT (just a guess).

Changes made from version 5.00.10 to 5.00.20:
- Update the subcategories listed for City Navigator Europe 2009 maps. - Correct various out of memory conditions that can occur. - Correct the processing of a received Location Message to not save the point on the Recent Finds list. - Correct the processing of received text messages to not close the GMXT application when a text message is received without a subject. - Correct an error that occurs when a headset is plugged into some devices. - Correct the use of the directional pad for movement between hyperlinks within Flight Status. - Correct saving and editing waypoints with non-English characters.

| Thanks, one thing I wish they did is update the traffic data automatically from time to time to offer trip recalculations, right it's frozen at the time the route was calculate, somehow defeating the purpose of "live traffic". |

would it be possible to get an address check for xt? my house does not appear in tomtom and their so-called new map is the one i already have. my neighborhood just started to show on google maps so i'm hoping i can find a pda product that has an updated map. i'm looking for grassy bluff drive, jacksonville florida 32216. thanks in advance,
i was not sure whether to post a new topic or reply to this topic since its specific to garmin xt.
fyi xt north america is on sales at semsons for 79.99. if my address shows up i want to jump on that. thanks again. |

When I go to Jacksonville, FL, the only choices I get for Grassy are:
Grassy Basin Ct. Grassy Hole Ct. Grassy Ride Dr.
I just received my Garmin Mobile XT from Semsons.com a few days ago and it has the very latest City Navigator North America NT 2009 that just started shipping in early October. |

| thanks. when i first got here in april i couldn't find it on any maps on the web. it only started appearing on the web within the last few months even though the neighborhood was built in 2006. guess it may take a while to get to the software. with the dwindling companies supporting smartphone it could take a while i guess. thanks again. |

| Someone asked in another thread what map data Garmin XT was using. I just got the US version that started shipping this month and it has City Navigator NT 2009 North America. Today Semsons also got a new version of the European maps that should contain City Navigator NT 2009 Europe. |

Go to Settings -> Manage My Data -> Map Sets and then tap on the MapSource button at the bottom of the screen. That shows the maps that are installed. Mine says City Navigator North America NT 2009.
Also, the 2008 versions were packaged in a blue box, the new version is in a dark gray box. The box does NOT say what maps are inside. I think this is a shortcoming. The date of the map set should be clearly marked, perhaps including the date the underlying Navteq data.
When you check MapSource, there is a checkbox next to the name of the map. If you uncheck it the software seems to only use the base map of the world, not the detailed maps. The checkbox says whether to use the installed mapset. Does anyone know if there are any ill effects from simply checking all the map sets that are installed? Would that somehow slow down some operations? I don't have much to play with yet, but hope to install the European maps on the same 8GB card once I exchange my unopened 2008 maps for the 2009 maps that surfaced yesterday. That would mean there would be two large mapsets but there would be no overlap between them. The software may only care about the area it is currently in, but I don't know for sure.
Is there any way to change the lower right detail from Speed to something else? When navigating I'd rather see miles to destination there rather than speed. Speed would be better displayed with the speed limit when that option is turned on. I'd rather look at my car's speedometer for speed information. If speed has to be displayed, it should at least change color if you exceed the speed limit. |

Only the Garmin nüvi 7x5 has the option to customize that field for the time being.
Thanks for the tip on checking map versions, will do that later.
As for selecting maps, you can indeed check what you want. |

Does checking every map available cause any slowdowns or performance issues?
Today I navigated next to a TomTom unit (don't know the model) and Garmin is much jerkier when going down the road. It jumps every second with the GPS update. TomTom is much smoother. It works OK, just not as polished. |
