I would like to use SIRF GSW3 for DGPS positioning. In the raw MID 28 message I do not have carrier phase as is stated in the manual, but can anyone confirm/deny if the SIRF navigation solution uses the carrier phase (just not providing them to the user)?
"Carrier phase is definitely measured in the GSW3-based receivers (that is the only software you will normally see in a SiRFstarIII receiver; the alternative is only used in embedded applications like cell phones), and it is used in the position fixes. But it is not output in Message ID 28. The choice was made to make that available only as a premium product, meaning that it would require an additional license at additional cost. If you have a specific requirement for that data, you need to contact your SiRF sales representative.

But does anyone know of any documentation for SIRF stating this?
AFAIK there is no document from SiRF that states that PVT uses carrier phase. But it's highly likely if Carl@SIRF wrote so! Plus, it is a very common practice to smooth pseudoranges with carrier phase ..and there have been quite a few complaints from users trying to do single and double differences on SiRF "too smoothed" pseudoranges!
Just got confirmation from SIRF customer support that the GSW3 _does_ use carrier phase in the navigation solution but does not report it in MID 28. Also their is no "key" to enable GSW3 firmware to provide this data.
