I am looking to buy my first GPS, nextar q4-1 in my area (urbana, IL, USA) has a very good price. But I am concerning that the company has a very sluggish record to update the map. They distributed the SD card with the gps, so maybe that is already quite out-dated. Otherwise, I might want a tomtom only for its update map. I am fairly good in computer stuff/programing. I would not mind some small hacking. Have any nextar owner update their maps(particular USA map) regularly? Do you have to buy their over-price SD card to do that or some other way? Thank you very much in advance.
