Hi all, I'm new to this forum.

I wanted to ask your opinions on how to find a good GPS receiving device. Basically I'm after a GPS receiver that connects to other devices by Bluetooth. I already have software to use with the GPS data, so really I'm after a simple device that won't lose signal when I drive under some trees.

So... What I'm asking is for buying advice. What kind of things should I look out for, makes to check out and the best places to browse in?

Oh, and I'm in the UK so products available to the UK or shops/websites in the UK would be very much appreciated!

Thanks.

Probably any of the units with Sirf III or MTKv2 chipsets. I would avoid the new units with the mini antenna(extra compact units) because they are not as sensitive.

tested recently nokia LD-3W. very nice receiver. it auto-suspends if no device is using it and uses standard LI-ION BL-5C Nokia batteries. Very good reception, static nav is very easy to set.
