Thanks to main author of this website and I really appreciate your time to fix bug on GPX Editor. I have made some modification on GPX Editor Source Code D7 to be able to compile successful on D2007. This is to keep up your motivation and the spirit of Delphi up and up. All necessary files are in one folder. To use it on Delphi 2007. Open the folder and open GPX_Editor proj. There you go.

Thank you, Pixel_K! Now, with this beta, I can save file.
Editing track points I noticed that the program lose track segment selection after deleting a track point from track segment. That is, to delete some next track point from the same track segment I have to select the segment again. A bit annoying to do double selection (segment-point) for each point when necessary delete several points from one segment.

With the following ini-file GPX_editor 1.3.46.1380 gives an error on storing files. The data files are left behind in an unreadable state. When I delete the ini-file it works well again.

1) please refrain from copy-pasting such large quantity of data to the forum 2) at least you could have tried with the latest version. |

Hi Pixel_K, I found your software several months ago and I'm using it trying several features. Actually I'm running the 1.3.56 and first of all I want compliment you for your great works. Finally I want expose you my problem: several times my gpx tracks contains some points 'translated' to respect to main track: then I see long orizzontal/vertical lines to chain the different segments. How can I move the wrong segment close to correct one ? Is it possible perform a cut/paste with gpx editor ? I'm sorry, but I don't find this feature.... Bye and thanks for any help |

No you can't, and even if you could, you shouldn't. In short, just delete the offending points. A track only contains points recorded by a device, you should not move or modify those points, as the modified points hold absolutely no value as for position nor time (or any other value), because you just made them up. It's better to keep only the good points, and delete the rest. If you want to "draw" a path, you should do it in a route (and you can do it in the Google map view).

| This by far is the best GPX editor I've come across. The one thing I would most like is an option to change the altitude and distance from m and km/h to miles and mph. |

| I'll try to add it as soon as possible, but it's a lot of work. |

New user here. Be kind. ;-) Is there a manual for the GPXeditor program? I downloaded the latest version but I have to say it is not intuitive to me. Basically, as a runner, I'd like to divide a run into segments which would become laps. So the end result would still be one GPX file. Though I can see the need for one to split a run into several segments, where each could become their individual GPX files as well but that is not a featire I need (for the moment...) Cheers! |

I'm sorry but no, there's no user manual so far.
So If I understand you correctly, you need to cut a track into track segments ? - Select the track by right-clicking it (it becomes red) - Click the "cut selected" tool
 - left-click where you need to cut
If you need more precision you can zoom with the mouse wheel or the zoom buttons

You can also cut a track by right-click in the speed/elevation profile on the bottom, select point and then cut here. |

Hello, Pixel_K, first of all I want to give you a high five for the beautiful work on the GPX editor, this is by far the best gpx editor I found, both for windows than for osx. I'd like to suggest and discuss one feature. It will be good to have a ay to filter the unwanted points. If I'm walking and my gps records every seconds my position I can't go too far between two points. For every point you could analyze the previous points and calculate the average speed, than flag the point if the speed is too high and eventually delete it if the following points are in the average speed of the before points. The same can be done for the distance: if a point is out of the average range of the previous point and also out of the average distance of the following points it has to be deleted. The number of point to be used to calculate the average speed and distance can be a parameter to set in the preference and the deviance from the average can be a parameter too. |
