Hello,

Can I pair a Garmin 765T to a Motorola H790 Headset (doesn't supprt A2DP)? I want to use it on a motorcycle to hear driving directions.

Thanks

Hi,
how connect garmin nuvi and bluetooth headset? GPS find the headset, but needs to write pin code in headset. It's possible to remove the pin code?

For someone having problems connecting/pairing their phone to their Nuvi I came across the following advice, I can't vouch for its effectiveness but the users where it was mentioned thought it worked

Connect your Nuvi to your PC. Select the .System folder, then the sqlite folder. You should see a file called mlg_history.db

Delete mlg_history.db, which can get corrupted/damaged.

Disconnect the USB cable. Power on. The Nuvi should boot fast (like when it was new).

Enjoy your sounds and bluetooth connection. mlg_history.db will be automatically regenerated by the Nuvi.

As with any changes you make to your Nuvi we recommend that you back up the file first, just in case you need to restore it.

My 765T comes tantalizingly close to syncing with a Cardo Scala G4. Is it possible it is different from other nuvis, or that this might change in the future?

in the bluetooth menu there are buttons for both phone and audio. When I go to audio, it finds the Scala and gets the password right. It completes the pairing without error the first time, but then loses it and will not connect again.

Might this be added in a future nuvi firmware release? Or are all of these menus on the nuvi just there, but will never work?

If you can put up with a cord, there is a better solution. On my BMW I use Etymotic ER6i canalbuds with my nuvi. They provide very good noise filtering (road & wind) and allow me to hear nuvi directions and radar alerts without blasting the volume. So you get hearing protection and very clear audio in one package, no batteries needed.

The Etymotic cord is long enough that I can route it out of the way under my jacket and beefy enough that it has held up for several riding seasons.

Nope, you'd need a Zumo for that.

The good news is that there are now some cheap Bluetooth headsets with A2DP, I even got one recently from Dealextreme where you can plug in a standard pair of headphones with a 3.5mm jack.

As a side-note the A2DP profile has been removed from the latest nuvi models, even the high end 3790T.
