Posted - 04 juin 2011 : 09:16:16 The last time I toyed with a 3790 in an Italian shop, it had free lifetime subscriptions for TMC services all over Europe... |

Posted - 04 juin 2011 : 08:32:49 Good news, actually Germany is the only country that I know of with a decent free public TMC broadcast so anyone can tune in without a licence. A few years ago a "premium" service was launched but I hear it didn't offer significantly better data. |

Posted - 04 juin 2011 : 02:47:19 I was traveling to Germany in May and to my surprise my 1490LMT traffic receiver picked up the traffic data with no problems and nothing I needed to configure.... |

Posted - 29 nov. 2010 : 11:05:59 Discoboy, check in the Traffic section of the preferences which subscriptions are present.
A few weeks ago I was toying with a 3760T in a mall, here in Italy, and it had lifetime subscription for every possible European nation I could think of... |

And if so, is the "free" service in Italy any good?
Unfortunately, quality of free TMC in Italy is very poor (as fas as I know from Dutch users). However, Italian Premium TMC should be working fine. |

Posted - 18 nov. 2010 : 18:25:07 I have a 3790T bought in Canada with North America maps. I recently bought CN Europe maps. I am travelling to Italy in January, 2011. Will the 3790T display "free" traffic info in Italy with my current hardware and maps? And if so, is the "free" service in Italy any good? |

Posted - 16 nov. 2010 : 01:54:10 Thanks for the update. Recent software updates (1490 I think) have mentioned the GTM-26 and GTM-36 receiver, I don't believe any has been sighted yet though. |

Posted - 07 août 2010 : 18:58:16 Research already done here : [TOPIC] Garmin Traffic : Clear Channel vs Navteq, CC is $10 more expensive at $60 for some reason https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=268 |

Posted - 07 août 2010 : 16:54:21 Thanks, Bob. I will research. |

Posted - 07 août 2010 : 16:51:39 Purchased only I believe. Pick your service provider as they cover the same areas but there aren't as many Navteq carriers as Total Traffic Network (Clear Channel) stations. |
