I will have five new traps to add to the databases after I collect all the Lat/Lons. How can I get them included in your file? In what format would you like the data?

Hi howie01,

You need to convert each of the MPH files. With Poiedit Tools/Batch Convert you can convert all files.

I prefer to have an icon with the speed. You can ignore speed.csv

Thanks for the answer........so if I understand you correctly, I need to convert each of the MPH files?...out of curiosity....what is the purpose of the "speed.csv" file?...i don't need that one also? Or...do i need it in addition to converting the individual MPH files? Thanks in advance!
jlb Posted - 06 janv. 2008 : 09:42:53
Hi howie01,

Don't used speed.csv. Use:
25mph.csv
35mph.csv
...

HELP! I downloaded the file on page 1 for NJ speedtraps........I put the single file "speed.csv" into POI edit and "saved as" tomtom ov2. Then I took that file with all of the BMP mph files (25,35 etc) and pasted them into my tomtom nothamerica map file. Got the POI icon there...BUT NO SPECIFIC LOCATIONS...WHAT AM I DOING WRONG????9It keeps saying when i search different areas, like kendal NJ where there was a trap listed in the forum...."none found")
howie01 Posted - 06 janv. 2008 : 02:22:22
THANKS!
jlb Posted - 02 janv. 2008 : 08:27:17

I am new to this website and I just got a nuvi 360. I have added your custom POI to my nuvi. Nice job. I travel about a hundred miles a day and have added to list. I marked all the speed traps on 78 between clinton and rt24 as well as a bunch of others how can I get them to you? I will be adding more when I come across them.

Thanks and let me know.

Hi,
Can I add this to InVion 7v1?
Thanks

hi guys,
I am a newbie to this forum. I have to say though that I am impressed with all the work that has been done to create all these POI files. My question is, is there a software that allow you to transform addresses to cordinates? can somebody please help me with that. I have a lot of time and I can spend some of it creating POI files for places that are not posted yet. cheers

Please update my file for 2/23/07 update. Thanks again.
joop1987 Posted - 24 févr. 2007 : 00:48:19
When you get close to the speed trap, the GPS will display a message like "55mph Speed Alert Ahead". The distances are differente for different speeds. Faster speeds will be display from further away. If you want to change the distances, run POI loader and select Manual Mode.

The speed traps in my Nuvi 350 are listed under where to->My Locations->Custom PIOs

You only have to drive near them to make them work.
They are broken down so each speed will display an icon with the speed.

BCarrara Posted - 18 févr. 2007 : 18:14:09
How do I get the speed trap POI's to work? I downloaded them and installed them onto my 2820 Garmin and they are listed as options. However, they are broken down into all of the MPH, 25, 35, 45, 55, etc. What is the way to utilize them when I am either navigating to and address so they pop up or make a tone and how to I have them displayed, alerted when I am just driving around. When I click on them in the Custom POI list it will show me all the speed traps, but that is it, what am I doing wrong??? Pls help, this is certainly a useful feature...

Mod,

Please update the zip files for the newest version 2/14/07. Thanks.

The list of speed traps are the locations where police like to hide with radar on a regular basis.
raaaaaa Posted - 27 janv. 2007 : 05:31:15
nice addition to POIusa look forward to some updates. I will try to contribute, just a quick question what constitutes a speed trap? a cop on the side of the road who you have seen in the same place more than once waiting for speeders?
