Posted - 21 oct. 2012 : 23:14:44 My 5120 got stuck on the USB screen loop, picture of my PC and a beaded string connected to my GPS, and would not update. My computer doesn’t recognize that the 5120 exists, except that it will write files to it.
The content manager doesn’t find my 5120 so the update doesn’t know that the attached gps is a 5120.
So what I need is the file set that goes on a Roadmate 5120 HDD. There must be some system data files that will allow the Content Manager to find my 5120 that used to be on my GPS so that the software will recognize it.
The MAC update version is also available from the Magellan website with this file name. Magellan_Mac_Update_MRM5120
Installing any one of the above to unbrick my gps would be fine.
I have managed to download all the update files from the Magellan web site and they run, but none of them recognize my 5120. In the process of running them on my PC, the files all decompress and or write a file set to the AppData folder. I have recovered these filesets.
I think there could be an advantage to fixing it with the 4_90 version so I could do a normal update on top of the unbricked gps.
My question to the group is, can someone provide me with a directory structure and the file names that go in each directory for one of the above versions?
Also, if there is an id file for the 5120, I need that too.
Can anyone help?

Posted - 10 mai 2012 : 00:32:36 He doesn't have to brick it just to see if there is an update available. He doesn't have to update it. Also, I don't think Content Manager saves the file to the hard disk anymore. Not like the old days.
Posted - 09 mai 2012 : 21:41:33 yes he is afraid to brick it and his internet service is not fast I thought someone might have one in hand I will udate it for him next time I see him
Posted - 09 mai 2012 : 18:48:57 You do know that he can use content manager to check that. The web site does not show what version of firmware any more. I think you have to use Content manager.
